Amazing Cake Alternatives

Trying to budget for a wedding can be tough. You already have your affordable engagement ring, so the band will need to be purchased soon, along with all the unexpected expenses that can come up at the last minute. On a small scale, a few hundred dollars doesn't seem like a lot, but when more than a few things start piling up on your list of what to buy for the wedding, it can get out of hand.

For those of you who are planning on getting engaged soon, did you know: On average a wedding cake can cost anywhere from $300 to over $1000, depending on how elaborate you decide to make the cake, how many people you are feeding and whom you choose to make your cake.

I love this alternative to the traditional wedding cake, to not only save some money but incorporate the talents of your friends and family in making desserts that will showcase their talents as well. The best gifts are handmade and what better than to ask for everyone to bring their very favorite dessert to contribute to your wedding!

Bring A Pie!

Everyone is asked to bring a pie, and that flavor is noted on the RSVP card so that in case of duplicates or triplicates, the guests can be contacted ahead of time and asked to bring a pie that no one had thought of~

You can also include place-cards next to the guests names, with their pie label on it, ready to be set at the dessert table. You just saved a ton of money and your guests will love to have a variety of desserts to enjoy!
